Wow! I can't believe I stumbled upon this thread so late! Thanks for that link, I remeber seeing that artist months and months ago, but never had the link to visit their site again!
Also, as for posting an image of how I think a werewolf should look, Here's one for me:

I love this picture. It's my all-time favorite.
It really is a great character.
But not the right image of how a werewolf should look, IMO.
I used to disagree with you about this picture, but now I think I'm leaning towards agreeing with you.
Though I think the anatomy is fantastic overall, there's something about this picture that just doesn't make it seem like a werewolf. I think it's the attitude.
Maybe if he was to jump up and growl and snarl a bit, he'd look more werewolfish. I'd also make a few changes to his face. I don't want any human in the face, but I don't want it to look entirely wolven either. The only way I can really describe what I want in a werewolf's head is that I want sort of an advanced wolf.
Maybe if I make an analogy, it will help.
The head of a chihuahua is to the head of a wolf as the head of a wolf is to the head of a werewolf.
.....grr....that still doesn't really express what I want. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to revert to saying that I want werewolves with 'uber-wolf' faces. Bleh.
Ultimately, I want werewolves with heads that look somehow way more canine and fierce than that of wolves. Not necessarily scary to behold at all times, but at least intimidating. Unlike lazy wolf up there.
Edit: Maybe something like Goldie's Kierrn, in Interrupted or I Eat You! Still very wolfish, but somehow more wolfish than a wolf.
