The grey wolf looked at Alexander when he uttered his remark about compassion being far from the forest-dweller's heart. A second he fought to contain a outburst at the slight - born out of ignorance he was sure - and settled down right in front of Bright-Howl.

*Wolf-speech* So you preach compassion ? Compassion like the humans have for our cubs when they kill them ? For our mates when they are killed during their hunts to feed the tribe ? Hmmm ? Where is the compassion of the apes then ?

*wolf-speech* If you have something to say about the fate of that human, than say it... Your time with the apes has given you their tongue and it strains my ears to listen to it.

The head of the old wolf lowered slightly. he coughed a few times as if to clear his throat. Only those near him could hear the sounds of sinew and flesh reforming within...

*Human speech* BOY ! Finish your meal and come sit down... But stay five paces away from me and my child... Each of the moons five faces wil keep you removed from us untill we choose to approach you... Understood ?

*wolf-speech* Now let us talk compassion, White-Pelt-Of-Metal....

*wolfspeach* "Like I said before, you live entirely too much in one world, you do not see things from both sides," Alexander started. "Men are not to be classed into one group. They are too different from one another, this one may be wildly different from the next, and is. Simply because you have suffered injustices by one group of men does not mean all are evil."

"Why do you think that hunter was what he was? Because one of our kind killed his kin, or something in that nature. Such set him to take up the path of a killer, and strike back at Werewolf kind. You and him are much alike, Dark-Moon, and you know it not. Know this, Dark-Moon Man-Slayer, vengeance is a very bloody path, and one that's end is the same as its' begining. Show no compassion, and none will be shown to you." Alexander queited down, his lupine face just barely masking the emotions that flowed beneath.

i sat down, why did they haven't killed me already? he asked him self. he was confused at why they haven't ripped him apart and ate him already.

Bright-Howl stayed in her human form she laid a gentle hand on Dark-Moon's shoulder as if to comfort him. The familiar wind gently blew around Dark-Moon as if insynic with Bright-Howl's thoughts and wishes. Her warm honey colored eyes looked at the boy and a small smile graced her face. "What fate led you to these parts?" She asked in a gentle compasionate voice. She then cast a look to Dark-Moon wondering all the time what was going through the mind of the great grey wolf.

Dark-Moon listened carefully to the words of Alexander. He seemed unsurprised at the arguments that were brought before him and nearly smiled when he was compared to Menthion. He let the white-pelted wolf speak with no interruption before replying

*Wolfspeech* You speak of differences, of good men and evil men... I have been the defender of my tribe... of all the gathered tribes in these great woods... I have never had the luxury of being able to study the apes and their ways. But I know that even the good ones cause our wods to grow smaller each year, they cause our food to grow scarce by over-hunting... By doing that they endanger my.... the tribes.
Where is the difference between good and evil men here ?

They need not kill us with fire and steel to damage our kind. They need not send barons and their warparties into this wood to kill our children and mates. Each of the apes kills us one day at a time.

Had I been able to finish what I had started, this would not have been a problem... but the council was meek and was afraid the humans would retaliate in force. So instead of standing our ground, open and proud like the forces of the Mother should, we cower and dwindle away...

This is a fate I will not accept. Every human that feeds the soil with his flesh and blood is better used than when he is let to walk the world, killing with his ignorance and stupidity.

As he paused to reflect upon the glorious past of victories and conquest, he felt the hand of his child touching his shoulders. Letting the feeling of unity flow through him, the oldwiolf seemed to relax even more, near to the point of losing all intrest in guttig the boy

Bright-Howl kept her hand on the shoulder of Dark-Moon as she await for the boy to gather his thoughts and commit to an answer. Her hand gently stroked the grey pelt of the wolf infront of her in a calming manner.

Night-Song listened carefully to the words that were spoken. It was clearly obvious that she had her own opinion about the matter, but that she had decided to be calm for the moment. She didn't want to interfer with the matters of this pack.

Her attention was again directed towards the boy who was obviously confused by the things going on. A little smile appeared in her green eyes - the boy didn't run away - to caught in his own thoughts and not afraid enough to try to escape ... she simply stared at him while listening the others.

Bright-Howl looked at the boy and smiled giving a gentle nod she clearly understood more about his life than she let on. As Tsume came running up she looked at the other wolf. "Tsume, friend, where have you been?" She asked curious.

Alexander calmed some, almost grinning. *Wolf-speach* "You are as skilled a arguementer as you are a warrior Dark-Moon. But I still do not see it your way. Instead of mass-murdering the humans, one could have informed them, wash away the ignorance with understanding, those who would close their ears and continue on in ignorance could be the ones used as fertilizer. A sort of balance between the forest and the cities could be attained."

"I do not think the mother would wish a genocide. All things have their place. Removing one is like removing a stone from a building made of many stones, big and small. It would not topple the house, but it would weaken it."

Forest-Wolf moved under a large stonehedge-like ruin. Moving into the center, he began to stretch. He sat down to wait for his friends.

Bright-Howl then turned her look back to the boy and smiled. "Do not worry I don't think Dark-Moon will harm you." She looked to the wolf infront of her hoping she was right in what she was saying.

Dark-Moon didn't move much as long as Bright-Howl kept stroking the pelt on his back, even when Tsume came running with seemingly exciting news. He did look at Alexander time and again, as if thinking about what had been said... but it seemed he was far from ready to reply...
The mentioning of the Mother's will seemed to have struck home and he was not very comfortable with that thought...
So he let the calmness of the moment flow over and through him as he pondered upon the will of the Mother and his place in her grand design...

Night-Song looked to the newly arrived young garou. She recognised her scent from the fight, so she calmed down after the first stir up. So many things were going on right now and so many things she had to think of! She made a sighing sound and looked to Tsume.

*wolf-speech*
Well, young one, you don't sound like someone who just comes running into a group of talking packmates for nothing than the fun of it, don't you? So, if I'm allowed to ask, what exciting news do you bring? And where's the other young one who followed you?

After this she towarded her attention to Dark-Moon who was obviously thinking about the arguments that this white pelted one had just made. Night-Song had to admit that he was a pretty good argumenter - although she disliked his all too human touch.

Bright-Howl looked to Dark-Moon.
"Father, teacher and friend. Please don't let your hate for the human kind blind you to the possibility that this one can be good." She said in a gentle voice as her hand softly stroked his fur.

Tsume turned toward Night-song."Hello to you to. And no I don't run to other wolves often unless they can prove they mean no harm to me or my friends. What I found is ruins in the forest don't know what kind. I came back to get everyone and Forest-wolf is finding shelter within it, so that maybe we can live there."

All of the sudden, a chilling howl split the sky. Over the ridge of a nearby hill, a pure white wolf was standing above, looking down curiously at the friends.

The white wolf cocked its' head. It sat down on its haunches, huffing silently. (My dog does this and it is the funniest thing in the world.)
