Their making another one already?!
gahh... i'll never understand the protable gaming market
Everyone one just cranks out new games, and new systems with all thses crazy new features like theirs no tomorrow. It least the PSP is quality.
I prolly won't end up getting one though, i have a bad history with same expensice things.
On a slighly off topic note:
I also don't understand why every electronic hardware developer, be it gaming or otherwise, feel they have to make the ultamate all-in-one tiny electronic ascessory. With cameras and mp3s and Intertnet and scaners and microphones and toutchpads and videogames and cellphones and calculaters and agendas and calenders and radios all crammed into this tiny a** plasic casing that would prolly blow away when it's hit by a stiff breeze. It all seems so exsessive to me.

There is one more feature I'd like to add to your list. Sony will have an adapter so you can hook the PSP to a big screen HDTV. Yup..watching movies from the UMD or the memory stick on the big screen. I think you'll be able to use a remote as well. If you take a good look at the PSP, there's an IR port on top.Lyco wrote:

Between that and the rumors that the PS3 will be one of the cheapest Blu-Ray players available, I'm not much of a gamer, and I'm now looking at Sony.
I'll have to see what the final product looks like in terms of abilities. If by the time the PSP2 comes out the same abilities are available on PDAs or smart phones, I'll probably pass. But, it looks like the PSP2 is continuing to aim for the all-in-one device, rather than just a gaming console.
But, knowing Sony, it'll probably continue to use propriatary parts. Indeed, in spite of the market lead Blu-Ray enjoys now, I'm betting that HD-DVD will win the format war by way of Betamax Theory: If it's technically superior and backed by Sony, it's doomed.

Taking a Gestalt approach, since it's the "in" thing...
