School report on therianthropy eh? I was thinking of doing something like that for my Sociology ISP, but then I thought that by being a therian my point of view would be biased... but anyway

It's weird... theianthropy has never really been a touchy subject to me. Because it's such a intencely personal thing, I know that any one person's view on it is effected heavly by their own expirences with it, as well as dozen of other factors like the kind of socity they live in.
Scott Gardener wrote:I doubt this will come as much of a surprise to you at this point, but the first thing I have to observe about the therianthropy movement is that it's a very controversial one. Simply trying to define it generates conflict within its community.
Scott's right. Trying to concretely define something so dynamic is only going to cause disagreement and argument. So knowing that therianthropy can't be generally defined, I've found that there is little that can be discussed about it that would lead to me being offended, (unless of couse you're on of those assholes who just call therians freaks because we're slightly diffrent.)

All I can say is that we have to respect everyone's point of view, but we also have to commend those who have the decenty to listen to everyone's points of view with and open mind.

Set... it's good that you voiced you're opinion, but I think even you'd agree that most of you're posts in this thread were more emotional then rational. I don't blame you, therianthropy can be a hard thing to deal with, but acting like that was awfully unfiar to Darkmoon, who was only showing an intrest in learning about the therianthropic comunity. Now hug and make up.

Now let's all get along! Don't make me bust out my drum and start singing koom-bi-ya.

:D

Do that and I would have to hunt you down and kill you.

Uh, i didn't knew therianthropy was a touchy subject here... i just mentioned it on another post >.>...

Well, i know this board is not really about therianthropy, but werewolves; but well, i do think many of the people that are attracted to werewolves, specially in the way this threads and comments read, are in a way therians... i mean, this werewolves page is not about furries, it's about lycanthropes, wich are related in a way to therianthropy.

Now, i will better shut up and leave while i'm still alive. Will go now to that page you mentioned about therianthropy, sorry, but i really wish i could know more therians, sometimes i feel so confused and alone, it's hard to stay quiet when you can share and read posts by a community named "The Pack" after all :P

There's this strange tendancy to act as though therianthropy and werewolves aren't related, when there's a rather strong connection between the two. Therians are, for rather obvious reasons, among the most die-hard fans of werewolves. Pairing the two together is as easy as linking Goths and vampires.
Taking a Gestalt approach, since it's the "in" thing...
