The special effects didn't seem all that great in the trailer.

I'm not looking for special effects as much as good story and good acting and good choice of actors. I like it mainly because I think it's way overdue.

I think if Shigeru Miyamoto had been making this the special effects would have been better, but since it is an indie film you and they only have limited funds..eh well u know Fig..

I know the character I really want to do good is Ganondorf. I hope they don't mess him up, Ganondorf has that really wicked laugh..oh I wonder if it's going to theatres? I didn't check, wonder if it says..

Well, theres no telling what the special effects will be like until after the film is made. It should be a good film once it comes out. I'll see it if I can find the DVD later on.

You know what would rock? If Peter Jackson or Spielberg made a Zelda movie....now THAT would be cool.

Ditto Renorei :) Funny thing is I've been keep an eye on this guy named Joe Morris((do a google search on him)) and he had been working on an animated Zelda film called "LINK" now I think while indeed this trailer isn't teh best, it still might have good acting, that always helps!!

However here is one site I have been looking at for a long time and I dunn think there has been much talk of it since last year which makes me think the idea might have flopped, but here is a few links for you to view. This movie however seems to revolve around the classic version of Zelda on Nintendo ES..

(as Ben Stein) "And the visuals are just electrifying."

Sorry, but this does not look like something Nintendo would endorse. It looks more like a cosplay production. :P

Nah I wasn't thinkin that although I can't see why Nintendo wouldn't do something like this before.. I think it would have been awesome :D

But like Renorei said it would Rock if it was done by Peter Jackson..I mean look how LOTR Trilogy did!! There are plenty of battles in those games :D

I'd love to see Orlando Bloom as Link. And Julian Sands as Ganondorf, but with darker hair.

Hmmmm...I watch teh trailer again and now I am more leaning toward yuck.. First of GanonDorf is HUGE!! He is nothing but muscle. Second I dunn see any pointed ears..Hylians have those pointed ears, the guy playing Link his ears are covered!! What is that?! It's easy to find some pointed ears.. Ugh...I'll still wathc it, but they did blow it for me there... :P

I actually read the description of the video, and would you know it? It is a cosplay production!
Legend Of Zelda Series, a Zelda fan site is working on a full length feature film based on the Legend Of Zelda series by Nintendo.
Hmm. . . Alright, I'll excuse the cheesy graphics since their presumably not making diddly for this film. . . But at least spring for some freakin' elf ears!

I saw the trailer before reading this thread, but I had the impression it was being done on a budget. The problem is, Zelda relies on name recognition and is targeted towards an audience used to eye-popping visuals rather than story-driven movies. And, the back story to the game itself is pretty generic and one-dimensional--evil guy kidnaps princess and you rescue her. (Am I thinking too much of Super Mario Brothers instead?) So, I have a hard time seeing this work.

Granted, the basic goal of Star Wars also was to rescue the princess, but it was very layered and ground-breaking. Somehow, I don't get the impression this will be the same, but I believe in the benefit of the doubt.
Taking a Gestalt approach, since it's the "in" thing...
