Why is it that every topic I hope is dead and buried ends up being revived? Geez, what page did you find THIS on?!

Feh. Well at any rate, some of the things I thought were true turned out not to be, but that was a combination of being told very little and my own jumping to conclusions. If you want details go ahead and ask, but if not there's no point in wasting my time typing up a long explaination.

The Norse Goddes Hel was evil anyway, they didn't need to demonize her.
and, though most often called Nyfflhymn, hel's domain is sometimes reffered to as Hella (Hel's alternate name)

Hel was not evil, though she wasn't exactly nice, either.
The Norse people thought of her as the grim custodian of the spirits of the non-warrior dead and of the spirits of those warriors who died in non-battle situations. She wasn't malicious, though, she was loath to do people favors, especially since most favors asked involved her relinquishing the soul of a loved one, something that her job description strictly prohibits.
The Norse tended to relate to Hel much in the same way we relate to giant trash-compactors today, a necessary thing that does an important but unpleasant job that normal people try not to think about, and a thing that only complete fools try to create intimate relationships with.

I wanted to say that :(

Ya hell is just were the the people went if they didn't die fighting as a hero so if you died of old age sickness or anything else you were sent to hel with the dead gods, but hel was no nice girl either she refused to let Baldar out of hel after Frija got everything on earth to say yes to it, but she didn't agree so he stayed with her

Actually, Hel agreed to let Balder go if everyone and everything on Midgard and Asgard sincerely wept for him.
Which they did, except for one elderly giantess who essentially said "Balder didn't care one whit for me, so why should I shed a tear for that miserable milksop?"
And it turned out that the reason why Balder didn't care about that particular elderly giantess was because she was actually one of Loki's disguises.

One other note:

stop believing hades is evil just because you saw James Woods play him in the Hercules disney animation. He's just an a**, and Hera killed Herc.

Actually, Hera didn't kill Hercules, the centaur Nessus manipulated Hercules' third wife Deianira by tricking her into thinking that his poisoned blood was actually an aphrodisiac.

True she wasn't completely evil but i based my description on the fact that she doesn't side with the Aesir in ragnarok, and the fact that she sent armies of the dead to help destroy the world............................................ever notice that when I post something that someone argues with me about that i do the whole" I got the last word" bit from dracula, dead and loving it.

As far as I know, Hel didn't side with anybody, Loki gathered up his army of dead himself.

I ought to polish you off for it.
But, seriously, aside from being on the ship of corpses' fingernails, she did not participate in Ragnarock, aside from escorting everyone back to Nifflheim once it was over.

Well if she was a friggin Aesir she would have said No, now wouldn't she...........because we all know what side Thor was on. And you don't mess with Thor................unless you just happen to be Jormungand the midgard serpent, then you can mess with him a little

Hel wasn't an Aesir, technically speaking, Loki wasn't an Aesir, either, if you discount the fact that he was Odin's oathbrother.

I was raised in a catholic family, but I don't believe in floating man in a cloud with healing powers, and pretty colorfull landscapes of heaven. My mother still tries to convince me in RC, but so far without luck. I think all type of 'gods' are fairytales, and people who kill other people for this are rubbish in the brain.

Hel was not evil. That's what I'm getting at.
She was a sinister being, yes, and she was present at Ragnarok, but she did not participate at all in the battle, save to escort all of the dead to Nifflhelm, including Thor, Odin, Heimdall, Loki, Freyr, and Tyr, and no legends nor the Eddas ever mention her taking the souls of victims before their time.
