Picking Your Power Animal Dream Talking

Post by Shadowsaber »

So Power Animals and not talking fight Club eather....
So you say wolf is your power animal. I sure you read about totams and did you know you can have over seven animals, plants and elements too. well I know I have wolf as one of my power but I'm draw to if all thing a Fox. As for the type I have so far. Fox, Dragon, Wolf, Black panther, woodpaker, hores, felcon. the most I have touch with is Fox. I thought to be more like a cat person but for some reason I get more Foxes in my drames then any other animal. other then Dragon and wolf. whats yours? :shift:

You know, I hate those tests thats out there.

You answer a few questions and they pick the animal for you.

Sorry. I don't go by those. I also don't go by totems.

I go with what my heart tells me.

I had a dream this morning. I'd like to share it.

I'm sitting outside with my laptop PC on my lap. I turn it on and it started booting up. In the corner of my eye, I saw something approach me. It was a wolf. A brown and white wolf!! When he reached me, he placed its head under my hand. He wanted me to pet him. Okay. I did. Then he threw himself onto my lap!! He knocked away my laptop PC!!

I wasn't mad at all. That wolf wanted so much attention. I started to pet it some more. Then I heard that Windows XP welcome tune. The wolf was gone and the laptop PC was in my lap again!!

Now thats FREAKY!!! :o

"Power animal"? I don't know.

My dreams don't usually involve animals. Unless the animal is me. I tend to get alot of people referring to me as a fox, and not in the way that means they find me attractive.

*shrugs* I never really was into the whole totem animal thing. According to one online quiz, inaccurate though they may be, my totem would be the jaguar. An animal who's wisdom includes seeing the roads within chaos, understanding the patterns of chaos, and moving without fear in the darkness. Which amuses me muchly.

I have no idea what you are talking about...

...Power Animal?...

Which version of Totem animals are you refering to? I'm pretty sure 'DRAGON' is not included on the ones I know of...

Sorry...I'm just confused. Could you clarify, specifically, what it is you are asking about, or discussing?

Hunh?...oh...ummm...no, I think I'll pass.
Since I don't even know what "IT" is that I am missing, I'm not too eager to have is surgically attatched.

...anyway...

Are we talking about test's like these then?

If not...how DOES one determine what thier "Power Animal" or "Totem" is?

... Riiiiiiiight ...

Does it allow Unicorns and Gryphons too? How can you have a Totem spirit-animal of something that does not, nor has ever existed?

Well Vuldari, i had a test in special school as to what animal fits the person the most. IIRC it's a collection of animal cards associated to native america. I chose one guy a badger because he likes to bother me, and i got chosen an owl because i'm a smartass (insight), and a raven because i tend to do magic that i hardly realize i did (yeah... magic).

I wonder what the "Traditional" method was (hundreds of years ago, before european colonization in america), for determining someones spirit animal / Totem/ Etc. I'm sure there must have been different ways for each tribe (or whatever the correct word is for a group of native americans).

While we are on the subject, does anyone know of any other traditional cultures aroud the world, besides native america, that believed in humans having spirit-bonds of some kind with other animals?

I suspect there must be (/have been) at least a few African tribes...though I really don't remember.

I find the cultural, traditional beliefs to be much more interesting than the "Tests" and other formulas devised and made-up for recent books and web-quizes.

Most used a shaman or medicine man to dertermine what their power animals were.

Don't get too hung up on the political correctness. I actually find it more annoying than someone using the wrong word. (And yes, I'm part native.) Tribe works fine.

Hmmm... According to this Online Quiz, (I took it twice, answering slightly different each time), The spirit of the BEAR "calls to me".

I could care less if I am a "freak". I don't care what other people think about me. I am me. I am different from the masses of society in unique and profound ways, anyway. Being physically different would trouble me not

I'm not sure what my totems are, and dont remember much of what I've dreamed of (which is weird normally I can).
I had many dreams of a large black dog, wont go into detail, they were disturbing and frightening.
Along time ago when I was little, before the Jurassic Park movie came out I dreamt of velocoraptors...I wont go into detail, it was also a disturbing and frightening dream. Can a Totem be an extinct animal?

I do often see animals in person, that I belive are signs from my Grandparents. The Lady Bug, and Cardnal. Both red, maybe that means something?

And what happens if your totem animal goes extinct While you're still alive? Does it dissapear or stick around since it is a spirit?
