any way i'm going to see it tomarrow
For the record - movie talk sucks and anyone talking loud enough to be heard in the theatre should be shot. :thpt2:

I think Anubis meant......talking about the movie after you see it.

has some gore and it has the aliens feel to it. but it didn't think it was really scary.

i want to see that movie BAD. big doom fan, though i didn't think it was all that scary... was funny in co-op mode, when it first came out for x-box, i would set up all the noobs to walk right into all the various traps and surprises. hearing them scream over the mike was the funniest thing ever. :D

...but about the fps perspective in the movie, did that help or hurt it?

Doom, as a movie, equaled more than I expected. I am not, however, a hardcore gaming fan ... so I don't particularly care about it's short-fallings to the Doom fandom. Heh.

It had a list of things I like:
  • Killing, always a favorite...
  • The Rock, he's just cool. Except when you mention Scorpion King.
  • Reaper (Karl Urban and his hotness). Brilliant!
  • Killing, continuing favorite.
  • Cool, not-realistic-but cool, Plot!
  • Archeology was involved. I-Am-An-Anthropologist...
  • Great Ending ... the ending was kickin'...
  • No 'Lovie-Dovies' ... No spoiling love sap in an Killer type film! THANK GOD! I'm annoyed when it's supposed to be guns and death that they have to bring in the "I would like to shove my tongue down your throat" ... all while bullets, or large charges of ammo, are wizzing by (or through) their skullzez... Ugh.
I am buying this on DVD when it comes out. That proves my gratitude towards all those involved in making it work...

Seems it turned out far differently than I would have thought, I'll have to go out and see it, after all I have all the Doom games.

The movie was decent, but it needs to be renamed.

- plot reminded me of resident evil more than it did doom
- Imps were pretty much the only Doom baddie, and they didn't even shoot fireballs.
- Complete absense of hell
- Complete absense of hellish gore and scenery
- no shotgun, BFG was wrong, no plasma rifle, no rocket launcher...
- why didn't the chaingun dude have a sidearm?
- kung-fu style ending was EXTREAMLY lame. very un-Doom.

on the plus side...

+ Marines did kill lots o s***, so it wasn't like they were helplessly slaughtered
+ Assault rifles shoulda been in the game
+ The Rock got waxed. Yay.
+ 1st person sequence was pretty cool. (reminded me of those arcade shooters like Time Crisis or Virtua Cop)

Well they didn't include Hell as to not offend any Catholic or Christian related religion... pussies!

WHAT!?!? There was no SHOTGUN!?!? What the f***ing h*** were they thinking!?!? The shotgun is the trademark of Doom, I'm greatly disapointed.

I don't understand that. Whats so bad about hell getting blown up? ...Oh, wait, thats right, if hell gets destroyed, then all the bad people have no place to go.

If constantine was made I see no reason why they coulnd't have had hell in Doom, but then there's what you said.
