PS2 Informant:
To me the best werewolf and vampire fiction portrays the creatures in a certain fashion and to deviate from that fashion (which in my opinion is the best) tends to ruin the impact of the movie or book about the creatures that I am taking in.
I can agree to a point.

But, that same logic gave us Cursed and Underworld. There's a lot of assumptions in the horror genre that we'd like to see NOT done with werewolves, as there's a large community of werewolf fans and therians who have our own ideas of them that have almost never been done in movies.

In fact, the main accomplishment of this forum is to keep Freeborn from being yet another stock werewolf B-movie. The Brownriggs and Cashel had some innovative ideas, but at first thought they'd have to settle, until a few hundred thousand posts here showed them that they weren't alone in wanting to see things done differently.
Taking a Gestalt approach, since it's the "in" thing...

I don't get it. When did anyone say they wanted to see werewolves in three-piece suits? ??

I just said "three-piece suit" because it was the most inappropriate piece of clothing for a wolf to wear that I could think of at the time.

You know... In a way, that's actually not a bad reference. That, of course, is assuming the werewolf maintains his general size and posture and that the only major key differences apart from fur growth concern his head, hands, feet, and tail.

It's the last one that I think will be a major burden to any werewolf that keeps his sense of decency in gestalt form. I just don't think those pajama bottoms with the button-up backside are in style anymore.

I guess this is just another one of those issues where it all depends on the individual. Some would try to find clothes that could be worn in gestalt form, others would just plan on reverting back to human form wherever they'd previously hidden their clothes.

That's a pretty cool image. But yeah, like Terastas, it would depend on the individual. I'd probably end up finding a pair of blue jeans that fit. But that's just because I wear blue jeans all the time.

bootlegs? Blech!!
I won't buy a bootleg of a dvd that is available commercially, but for material that is not, and is likely to never be, sold legally, bootlegs are the only option left.

I was out of the country when WOLF LAKE aired; by the time I knew it existed, it had already been canceled. No one is gonna release it as it wouldn't make money, but the fan circuit has produced an acceptible product which allowed me to see the show for myself... 3 years after the fact.

I wouldn't buy a bootleg of WEREWOLF the tv series, since it still has a chance of being released. As pointed out though, Monster Squad is mired in a custody battle that prohibits a dvd release. Blech or not, bootlegs are the only way many will have a shot at seeing this 1987 classic.

A wolf with clothes would just look silly. Could you imagine one in a three piece suit?
Somewhere in a trunk I have a shirt I bought in the 80s, with a stylized werewolf in a 3-piece suit and a boulder hat, and a logo advertising a nightspot called WEREWOLVES OF LONDON.

After a few minutes of websurfing I found a werewolf in a three piece suit on a Mr. Brokken T Wolf's website. And for a werewolf in a three piece suit he looks prety good.

Yugo (see Bloody roar link) is actually one of my ideals he is what i think a werewolf should look like if you could see a whole image of him
*caugh* http://www.gamecollege.co.kr/bloodyroar ... o_wolf.gif
*caugh*
you would see that they even did a great job on the legs, he is also very cool because they gave him a tail, he'd look better without the shirt. Then he'd look like a grey virsion of Figurou,
(oh and they didn't mess up the ears like on van helsing)

Well, while a werewolf might look fine in a three-piece suit, this guy would look pretty silly.

If that guy looks silly in a suit, then a wolf would look really silly; therefore it shouldn't happen.

Okay, that's a good case for the full wolf not wearing clothes, but what about the gestalt? Jon Talbain looks okay in pants.

I'm not in favor of it, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing for the Lon Chaneys and Oliver Reeds out there to find themselves still wearing the tattered remains of clothing when they wake up the morning after in a field or zoo or wherever their alter egos left them.

Like I said in the other thread. Personal preference; they could if they wanted to, but most likely it would be uncomfortable, and most would go without.

I suspect most would go without, providing their gestalt form is as advanced as those seen in Underworld or the Howling, but for the poor humanistic werewolf, it could prove a tad more embarassing.
