Finding my fur... somewhere....
I consider my self a wolf of sorts, as a furry. Even my mundane friends liken me to wolves and the like, however, i see my fursona as a were of sorts.. I could be likened to them in a way too because of my personality.. anyway these are random thoughts i wanted to post and get a reply to see what y'all thought... im wondering if i should start telling people i am a were. Basicallly what i mean, is there a distinction between an anthrowolf with digitigrade legs five fingered paws, and mostly wolf face?

I wouldn't do it. Unless you have the ability to physically transform into a wolf-like creature, I wouldn't.
Personally, I've always thought that all these people who have 'mental transformations' and call themselves werewolves are kinda silly. Unless there are big teeth, fur, and a tail, they aren't werewolves, IMO.
You could perhaps say that you are a werewolf therian. That, I think, would be a little more respectable.

Your in the furry community but you think your fursona is more of a werewolf. Well, we were thinking on that in a different thread somewhere if we are furries. A anthro wolf as you have discribed can be considered a furry if you please, you want to call it somrthing else, then call it something else. As we've been rambling about, you call it what you want!
*Looks at above posts* Etheir you worded something weird or they read it wrong.

After rereading it, yeah I think I did read it wrong or something, though I did answer at least part of the question.outwarddoodles wrote: *Looks at above posts* Etheir you worded something weird or they read it wrong.
In my opinion, there is definitely a distinction between a werewolf and an anthromorphic wolves. Werewolves have the power to become anthromorphic wolves. Anthromorphic wolves, however, aren't werewolves. It's up to you to figure out whether you are an anthro wolf therian or a werewolf therian.
(Your post was a tad bit confusing. When someone says "Is there a distinction between...." it is usually followed by X and Y, not just X. That threw me off a bit.)

Yeah, putting the word 'anthro' or 'anthromorphic' before any animal name just means that it has a roughly humanoid body, with digitigrade feet and the animal head. The fingers and toes (and the nails on those fingers and toes) vary by species, and of course so does the tail, fur color and texture, and overall body structure (i.e. you'd never see a skinny anthro elephant, but you'd be hard pressed to find a fat anthro cheetah.)Figarou wrote: Learned something new, I did.

Ahh, okay. Here's what it is:Figarou wrote:I wonder what could've caused that. I'll be suprised if its a glitch of some kind.
Go to your profile and enter a really long signature (so that you get the "Your signature is too long." error). After you get the error message, the birthdate and sex disappear -- if you submit after that, they're gone.
That's what happened to me earlier, only I didn't notice.
EDIT: By the way, that limit on sig size is really annoying. Can we up the limit a bit? As you can see, my sig really isn't all that big at all. But all the URLs take up characters.

I always saw 'anthros' as either Disneyish animals, you know, singing, talking, and acting like people, or 'furries'. Plantigrade, short muzzles, fairly human hands, etc. I see the digitigrade usually werewolf form as something else, more animal than human...and quite seperate from anthros. But anyway!
In answer to the original question, I would NOT suggest telling your friends. People are not generally openminded, nor trustworthy...you might seriously regret your decision. If you must insist, I suggest great caution in how you word it. People are jerks, and might easily twist what you say. Or report you to the Whitecoats. Be careful.

BTW, if I understand ur statement when you tell me not to tell anyone, i have told just about everyone i have met ( you mean dont tell others im furry, right?) and i am currently in college, and my whole floor knows about my furrieness and seems to like me because of it, and my RA ( the dude that watches the hall and reports trouble) wants my help in setting up a furry education night where people can come and learn about furry. So far everyone is extremely openminded about it, and i wear a tail and arm length paws with metal claws on them ( and yes they work, and can be used).
