M*A*S*H* was a classic. IMO, that show makes television tolerable for its contribution alone.

My Dad was over there for the Korean War and actually stationed not far from where the show was supposed to be happening. Our whole family all gathered round the set to watch it, religiously. So we'd watch the show and Dad would give us some real-life perspective on what was going on.

He died in '91

No more war stories...

Thanks...it came on fast, too. But he and the ancestors are pulling for the rest of us now, keeping the family from crumbling.

It's been long enough that the pain is blunted, but it never really completely healed. You don't heal from something like that, that's why I was contemplating physician-assisted suicide if the cancer got away from us. I don't want to put my family through a nightmare scenario like that again.
