Battle Cry
Yeah, I know, it sounds cool but you don't want to be down with this bunch.
I'm getting the word out on a new Xtian fundamentalist youth group called Battle Cry (I will not call them Christian, they're NOT Christian). They haven't done anything untoward yet, but the way they're talking gets me to thinking that they're entirely capable of Animal Liberation Front, ANSWER, Ruckus Society and possibly even Taliban-level violence.
They call themselves "The Violent Ones," state that Jesus is calling today's youth to arms in the war, called their events "Acquire the Fire," make the girls in their academy wear skirts of a certain length for the same reason the Taliban enforced the burqa, and sow extreme intolerance which is probably the least Christian sentiment you can find. And no, it's not a bunch of inbred slackjawed wife-beaters from the Bible Belt's buckle, it's stadiums full of 18-to-24-year-olds in SAN FRANCISCO AND PHILADELPHIA, to the tune of tens of thousands per event. Here are some bands connected with the movement and who've performed at the Acquire the Fire events:
Pillar
TobyMAC
Delirious
Jeremy Camp
Here's a neutral link where you can read more. I know there's a lot of people in the targeted demographic on this board so this is why I'm giving a heads-up.

The whole thing just scares the crap out of me. Sure, LiveSTRONG said in so many words they're declaring war on cancer, but cancer's a disease. Blowing people up for Jesus is no better than blowing them up for Mohammed, or any other prophet for that matter.

Yeah, but extremist groups are hard to deal with, especially when they're planting pipe bombs in your exhaust pipe!
See, I b**** and gripe about idealogues, but for the most part I'm not afraid of them and tolerate their existence. They can say and think what they want as far as I'm concerned. But you gotta be concerned when a group of people refer to themselves as "the Forceful Ones" and equate violence to virtue.
I have no problem with defending myself against whackjobs but I don't want it to come to that.

More Necromongers, great...
The end times are here.
If only because we'll tear eachother apart before anything else can happen.
Vrikasatma is right. Anyone who thinks or acts in such a manner is NOT Christian. Jesus preached peace, love, and tolerance, not violence and bigotry. Wrath is a sin, and I can think of no finer example of using religion as an excuse than this. (Well...except maybe that psycho woman someone posted about earlier.) According to their beliefs, if they indeed actually believed in what Christianity preaches (which they obviously don't), they're earning themselves a first class ticket to hell. Or the dark ages. They're not much different.
If they want to pull this crap then it should be legal for me to go all Roman on their asses and feed them to some lions. It's only fair.
Thing about people like this is you can't talk to them. You can't reason with them. I've tried. (Sadly, there are a few people like that down here. Most aggravating bastards I've ever met.) No matter what you do or say it doesn't work. Depending on how far these people are going to push it...violence may end up being the only choice.

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Human race. here you will see people killing eachother for absolutly no good reason! you will see people lying, cheating and stealing. why? because they can! there are a few truely good people in this world, but not many. if you find one hold them close. the fact that they are good makes them weak, and therefor a target for such crimes listed above.
why can't we Allah just get along...?
