How do I make wolf smilies?

Post by WereDragon25 »

Hey, Fig told me to come here and ask how to make those dragons, you know, when you edit the wolf smilies. He said he couldn't teach me. He said that somebody here could though. So, anybody know how to do it? ??
Going crazy with all of the work I do, all of the practice I do, and all of the $@#% I have to deal with. God, please help and support Obsidian and I get through this mess.

I couldn't cause I don't have the time. (Working LONG hours at Exxon.)

Just so you know...its not easy WereDragon25. Especially if you don't have the right program for it.

The gimp is one. and its free. http://www.gimp.org/

Someone else might help you.

Here is a place that could help make a simple smilie.

http://www.mazeguy.net/faq.html#create

After that...you can work on wolf/dragon smilies.

ok....I'm going to teach something basic.

If your PC has Photoshop...just open several wolf smilies and look at the differences between them.

If not...ask your parents to download Gimp. That or use MS paint.

Using the tools provided in Phtotoshop, MS paint, or Gimp....just mess around by changing ("editing") the wolf smilie. Re-coloring is simple. Animation is a whole different concept. (Which is VERY difficult.)

Sorry that I can't be much help. Working 50+ plus hours puts me in an unmotivated state. :(

Do like me and experiment with Photoshop. (MS paint if you don't have Photoshop.)

Being an artist helps out a lot.

If I was an artist...I could do a lot more compared to "editing" something that's already made.

You can use just one program to do it, or use multiple if you have access to good ones, (if you have money).

Me, I go the FREE route because I don't have alot of money and do everything in GIMP.

The way you make animations using Gimp is by Creating Layers (every layer automatically becomes a frame of animation if you save it as an animated gif). The "Background" is the first (starting) frame and each one above it follows in sequence.

The best way to learn is to copy and save an animated GIF on to your computer, (save it the same way you save any regular non-animated picture...right-click and save/copy) and then open that image using whatever program you have (Photoshop, GIMP, etc.) and then look at how it appears within the editor.

Start by messing around with existing images like changing the colors. Then add something to like making something move that didn't move before (winking eye...bouncing up and down...shaking back and forth, etc.). Once you start to understand how that works (generally by messing up and then fixing it) you will learn the basics of what you need to know to make your own from scratch.

...that is how I learned anyway... Now Look What I Can Do...

:wolfincone: :wetwolf4: Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image
Image (The Wolf with the Cone was my very first edit...and I needed help just learning how to add transparency to it...I didn't have a clue)

...I probably COULD put together some sort of complex tutorial...but really, I think it is best to start by dissecting an existing animation to learn how it works. I would recommend starting with a "Winking" animation. It essentially only involves two frames of animation (a face with the eyes open, and the same face with one eye closed) and is a great learning experience.

Ok, but, White Paw, you might want to know, GIMP takes about 7 hours to download. It has been loading here for...4 hours.
