Kid Tortured by Bullies in Perth (Warning, Graphic descrip)
Heard about this story through the NationStates forum.
A few days ago in a school near Perth, Australia, a gang of five bullies, ages 12 to 14, forced one of their classmates into the bathroom of their school and told him to do everything they said or they'd beat him.
From there, they dragged him into the bush and took him to a crude hut in a camp there. For the next six hours, they brutally tortured him. Among some of the acts committed on their victim were to hang him from a tree branch by the back of his underpants, prodding and beating him with a nail-riddled board, pissing in his lunchbox, making him crawl around on hands and knees and act like a dog, threatened him with an axe and threw him in a makeshift grave and started to bury him. When they got bored with their little game (!) they told him they were going to force him to sleep in the hut until 3AM at which time they'd return and kill him. I infer that to mean they hogtied and gagged him.
Somehow, the kid managed to escape and ran home. His mother called the police and all five of the bullies were arrested.
Now here's where things start getting really sick and insane. The mother of the ringleader says that her son is a sweet boy and the whole matter is an affront to justice. (It's alright Percy, have a sweet and get ready for your piano lesson. Mumsy will make those awful cops go away)
The other kids may be back in that same school after the hols. It goes without saying that most of the school parents are keeping their kids OUT of that school until and unless those kids are expelled. They said in so many words that they fear for their own childrens' safety.
Investigators are saying that this wasn't a one-off incident, and that the victim has been terrorized by this pack of bullies for months, maybe years. At the very least, he's gonna need at least counseling and probably full-blown therapy for a long time. The ringleader should be in jail at least as long. This is parsecs past "Nanner-nanner, you're fat 'n gay!" and itching powder down the shirt.
And I'm sorry, but please don't trot up the "They're children, it's a cry for help" litany. The only person crying for help here was the kid getting hung from a tree branch by his underwear and getting multiple tetanus injections the hard way.
Boy, am I glad I didn't have kids.

Well, there's his problem right there. His mother is a stupid b**** who didn't bother to teach her little asshole of a kid the difference between right and wrong. The only affront to justice here is that she won't get any jail time, too. Kids need to be kept to be kept in jail until their twenties, if you ask me.vrikasatma wrote:The mother of the ringleader says that her son is a sweet boy and the whole matter is an affront to justice.

This is terrible news; reminds me of the whole high school football hazing incident a few years ago. Bullying is such a terrible thing and no good comes from it. And what would the parents of the bullies know about their kids; I mean, I don't see a bully telling their parents who he picks on in school. I think the kids should be taught a lesson and to respect one another, escpecially if they see their actions as harmless fun.

Personally, I do think the parents of the whole gang should be arrested on suspicion of child abuse. Children doing things like beating up and menacing other kids with a deadly weapon is no joke and kids don't get like this in a vacuum. Sometimes breaking up a family is compassion.
I don't think it was "harmless fun," nor do I suspect that the kids thought it was, either. I think they knew exactly what they were doing and what it meant, and didn't care. At its roots, this is the kind of things the KKK and Mussolini's Fascisti got up to. This isn't giggly-clever, this is psychopathic, predatory and evil. Let's not deceive ourselves about that.
Furthermore, I don't put an ounce of credibility in the mother of the ringleader's statement. She's probably at least as psycho-emotionally sick as he is and she's blowing smoke up our noses.

If they were really going to kill him as they said, then that's even more f*** than Leopold and Loeb. I can't believe that these are 12-14 year old kids and their minds are already warped to the point of this kind of sick bullshit. Thank god he escaped.

That's disgusting!!
I really hope they do a lot of time for tutoring that poor kid like that! That isn't right! And the mother of the monster that says he's a "sweat boy" needs a slap on the face and harsh reality check to see that her so called angel is actually the spawn if Satan!! Those kids need to do a lot of hard time, with therapy (if they treated another human being like that, some thing is most deffenately wrong with them) And Hard labor to repay the damages done.
I really hope that kid would be able to live a normal life after that, because it goes with out saying that kind of situation really messes people up big time. Victims of torture often have what is called post traumatic stress syndrome, which can be really disabling. What makes it worse is they could get flash backs making them relive their traumatic experiences.

That was close to my reaction on reading this. Whatever the Australian version of CYPFS is, needs to have a look at those families to find out just how those little s*** learned that such behaviour is acceptable.vrikasatma wrote:Personally, I do think the parents of the whole gang should be arrested on suspicion of child abuse.

It disgusts me how kids this young would do such an ihumane thing to someone. I blame the parents aswell as the childs, this proves that the parents didnt raise their child to be good upstanding citizens. I would throw them in jail and make them work at sweat shops with minimum rations.

Well there's the problem. You can't make s*** like this up, so if someone can learn that their kid tortured and threatened to kill someone this way and still insist that they are a sweet little kid, I take that as a sign that they are unfit to be parents. She clearly isn't paying any attention to her kid(s) if she doesn't know this is what's happening.vrikasatma wrote:The mother of the ringleader says that her son is a sweet boy and the whole matter is an affront to justice.
Arrest the mother of the ringleader for child neglect and reckless endangerment, and put the ringleader into foster care. The parents of the other four should have a visit payed by child services too.

You know what? What goes around comes around. Even if no legal action is taken, these five kids are going to be known throughout their entire community as the ones that tortured and would have killed someone just for a lark. It's only a matter of time before someone decides to let them onto the receiving end.
I'd prefer it if that someone was a judge mind you, but inevitably someone will decide to return the favor.

I been trying to avoid this topic..very hard, but I can't any longer
I was one of the kids that got bullied everyday at school..I dunno why I was such a target in school, but it went on up till high school..I tell you even though I'm 23 I still think back about how close I was to killing myself or doing something to those bullies that could have forever ruined my life..It still bothers me to this day how cruel kids can be..It was hell, I never wanted to go to school because I knew wat was there..The stuff stays with you forever. I remember seeing a broadcast a lil while back on bullies an I cried so hard an couldn't stop..How some kids had it so bad they took their lives, I could have been one of those kids..It got so bad I got taken out of school..
Eh..sorry this is not about me this thread, but I guess I was just saying in this short story I can relate..It's funny how when the bullies got caught how they were crying now after they got in trouble..*shakes head* It's all on the parents an wat the parents let their kids do an be around. See even after I got bigger it was still a problem, people automatically thought I was a bully because of my size, but I never have been the bully type. Family always said to walk away when I was a kid an I did, but that also left me open to more attacks. It helps if you have friends at times, but if you got no friends, you are going to try to run, especially from a pack of bullies
As for the parents they know better..How many more children have to come to school with guns an knives killing up the bullies plus who know how many innocent others? It won't stop till someone acts. I think the parents are definately at fault here an should have some kind of punishment themselves an the kids need some treatment too. They have it in their heads it's alright to bully others..

First of all, I can relate. It wasn't up until this year that I actually started to get some respect(mostly because I film blooprs for the school productions and people didn't want to be in them) In 4 years, I have attempted scuicide nine times and attended both Girl's Therapy and Teen therapy. I can truly relate to you, and agree that those kinds of things, well, they can just never go away.Teh_DarkJokerWolf wrote:I been trying to avoid this topic..very hard, but I can't any longerI was one of the kids that got bullied everyday at school..I dunno why I was such a target in school, but it went on up till high school..I tell you even though I'm 23 I still think back about how close I was to killing myself or doing something to those bullies that could have forever ruined my life..It still bothers me to this day how cruel kids can be..It was hell, I never wanted to go to school because I knew wat was there..The stuff stays with you forever. As for the parents, there's only so much they can do. When their child is old enough to decide for themselves, they can only hope that the child stays on the path that they marked.

poor Joker. I didnt want to say this to you. But I use to be somewhat of a bully for a short while when I was little mainly because I was short tempered. I didnt do alot of Bulling, just a few., I never did it excessively. I made the mistake on picking on a handicap kid one time. He got so upset that he brought a knife to school and wanted to kill me. Luckily my sister got in the way and stopped him. That moment changed me, it made me realize what I was doing to that poor kid and all the others who I have been bulling. So I changed my ways and became a passive and very freindly kind of person.
Unfortunately a year later in the third grade, I became the victim of bulling, I could defend myself but there was a few times where I cried because of other kids picked on me. and it went on until the fourth grade when I had enough and started bulling back. I soon stopped and havent really got picked on much. As long I can show that I can fight and not afraid, I never really got picked on.
