I know this gonna sound like a political but, I was just wondering if anyone else is a little concerned about how fast china is growing economicaly. sooner or later thier going to be strong enough to attack us, and they will more likely to win. First thing is that they are making almost every product, nothing is made in U.S.A. or Mexico. the only thing thats keeping them from attacking is that alot of our citizens have weapons and will be willing to fight for thier country. And plus our technology, but they will eventually catch up, i believe theres gonna be a war between U.S. and china sometime in my generation. And I might get drafted

heh, do you REALLY want me to talk about politics/economics?

Oh well, remember you asked for it....

To be blunt, no I'm not worried, China's growing rapidly yes, but my long term assesment is that thier growth will slow down drastically within 10 years and it really doesn't present the economic threat some people think it does.

I do worry about China though, mainly due to geo-political tensions with Taiwan. I'm very serious when I say that China and the US very well could go to war against eachother in the not too distent future, and thanks to China's numbers, it wouldn't be pretty.

If there ever is a war, this is what it will be about; not about economic control, but the way China treats its neighbors.

The saving grace, of course, is that China has more problems with it's own people than other countries. Neither side would dare attack the other because:

A) Both countries have a nuclear weapons program.
B) The U.S. corporations rely on the Chinese cheap labor and the Chinese rely on American employment -- both economies would suffer.
C) Whichever side declared war first would have a hard enough time keeping their own population's protests under control, nevermind the U.N. supported defender.

It's really not a situation either would permit. The United States's economy really isn't suffering that much because of imported goods because new industries are continuously rising up in their place, and China, bearing an estimated one third of the planet's population, can't really afford to turn away the country that is buying their goods and keeping their people employed.

When two strong economic powers engage in war, the only result is financial ruin for both sides. Look what happened to Europe after World War I; the only reason the United States is the only global superpower because all the European superpowers blew themselves to s***. If the United States and China go to war, the only winner will be the strongest economic power that stays out of it.

I tend to dismiss the idea that China wouldn't be willing to do something crazy because of the economic implications. Sure a rational person wouldn't do something like that but nobody ever accused China of being entirely rational.

(To be fair nobody has ever accused to US either, though I wouldn't put the two countries on the same level on that catagory.)

you probaly just type to fast marine wolf, i do that all the time and once im done typing i recheck my spelling, you should do that. Or what you can do is sometimes type first on microsoft word first, then copy from there and paste here.
