Favorite moon phase/position/view

Post by Figarou »

Well, lets talk about something other than the werewolf. How about the moon. :D

Since I work nights, and outside all the time, I like to look at the moon.

I love it when I see the moon rising over the horizon. It doesn't matter what phase its in.

I also like it when I see fast moving clouds pass by the full moon. Seeing it get covered or partially covered.

I also like to see the full quarter or last quarter moon. Its like a big smile up in the sky. :D

Sometimes I try real hard to find the new moon before the sun sets. Its very difficult. A day or 2 later, you can barely see it.

thats all I got.

Whats yours?

I'm partial to the full moon, since it's extremely bright and makes all sorts of cool effects that are great to photograph.

You don't have a favorite moon position in the sky? What about a view?

Oh, that reminds me. There is a great point over by Loop 410 and Callahan, in the parking lot of a Lowes. During the winter when the full moon rises, you can see it there, and it is absolutely HUGE. I need to get out there with my camera and tripod and take pictures.

I like full moons the best, or even crescents.

The moon is just a plain cool moon. :D

I've seen it go to a blood red color before, and seen it slowly turn back, tis rather nice. I've also seen it when it looks rather big and is a nice bright yellow instead of the normal pale white. Very cool. 8)

Yesterday the moon was really bright, dark yellow/orange.

And I love to view the full moon over a great forrest.

My favorite by far is the blue moon, or when there's blood on the moon it makes it look really cool

Full moon on a nice clear night. When I look at it, I see the rabbit, rather than that ugly man in the moon.

Anyone else with me in that?

I've never seen the moon look more eerie or more beautiful than the time I dreamt about it turning blood red before my very eyes. But as for something I've seen when I'm actually awake...

There was one night when the moon was almost full. It was hanging kind of low in the sky and it filled up most of my vision it was so large. That was just cool.

I like the moon when it's come other color than white. Pink, yellow, orange and the like. I've never actually seen a blood moon though. As far as phases go the full moon gives me enough light to see by so I don't have to take a flashlight with me if I want to go for a walk. I usually hear the coyotes howl really late (about 2 or 3 am) when there's more light to see by. Crescent moons are pretty too.

While that one's not quite the one I see, it's a heck of a lot closer than these ones:

It was a darker color than that and completely red. It was also larger than usual but not huge.

Speaking of blood moons...Searif, when were you born? And was it night or day?

I like all the moons. Especially the colorful ones. The full moon I really like. Though I'd have to say I like my 'birth moon', which is only a waning Gibbous Moon.
