Mostly though...I think the idea behind this subject is not the suggestion about whether someone who is allready a Werewolf should get Implants or not... ...but rather, what would happen if a human who allready has such implants in thier body was bitten ? ...what would happen to thier body durring ...

I would think that, for replacement sorts of implants, the werewolf simply wouldn't need it. Artificial hips or hearts? No, their bodies are going to regenerate that sort of damage, and there's almost no chance of having something like that -- usually attributed to old age -- before they begin shift...

I dunno. I'm all about culling the weak, but I daresay human compassion would win that over. Again, however, it would probably depend on the case. I'm sure a werewolf with a mental defect that prevented it from controlling its shifting would be considered more a threat than, say, a werewolf with MS....

Well, I expect to see a bibliography, young wolf! Two demerits! (Whatever that means...)

Actually, I honestly wouldn't advocate use of Wiki material in an academic paper. I'm sure in this case, what you found was correct, but there's just so much room for misinformation on that site...

Excellent. I notice no citations. Did you write this for class/professionally, or simply in your spare time? If the latter, kudos, because not many people can fling about phrases like "metaphysical symbiosis" as if they were so much grain. (Mmm, grain-flinging...) You do sort of stray away...

Well, that also depends upon how many different sorts of weres there are in the world. I mean, if you think about it, realistically (or as realistically as one can get on this subject), why would a disease cause someone to metamorphose into a creature with strong characteristics of, if not the entir...

I daresay a smart werewolf pack would by needs accept all members short of homocidal maniacs, simply for the sake of keeping together a strong, coherent pack to ensure mutual survival. GLBT werewolves would fit into that. But the gay werewolf is also going to be a rare breed, even by statistics. Out...

Just two cents from someone who's also biased on the issue (wereravenwolf). While I like the idea of a blended-species were, the thought of someone going "I'm a werewolf and a weretiger!" is just, as someone pointed out, too Mary Sue. That being said, I don't see even the blended-species a...

Veruth's 'asymmetrical revulsion' is a good point. This isn't going to be a horror movie, so there's no real reason to go for unnatural effects. All the talk about single-part shifting just makes me think of Whitewolf (of course), where such things are a mainstay of advanced gifts. Personally, I'd b...

O-ho-ho! Now, that's actually a pretty decent result, I have to say.

Still doesn't make me like the system. But you can't win 'em all.

Like I said, I like the new Vampire for some reason. Can't say what. I like the fact that the new system is starting off by organizing everything into a unified whole; they don't pretend in the vampire and werewolf books that mages don't exist, for example. I do also like that they really defined th...

I tell ya, I really don't like the new werewolf. I can't put my finger on it, honestly, but it would be something along the lines of "it's lost that loving feeling". I guess... they've pigeonholed the feel of the game into something that isn't why it used to be fun. This is also why I stop...

I do agree that the incessant resummarizing of the previous book's events becomes wearing after a while. In fact, Fool Moon is so far the weakest book of the four I've read, mostly for that reason. Despite this, the entire series has been excellent so far. I really recommend it.

Hahaha, great minds think alike, and so do we!

Yes, it's great, but I suggest reading the first book, "Storm Front" first, to get the background, and because it's a really great book on its own. And then just continue reading the series (like me).

The Dresden Files

Dang, I need to get out on this board more often. I didn't see a books topic, so here goes. I recently picked up an awesome series of books (that, oddly enough, my mother bought), called The Dresden Files, by Jim Butcher. The main character is the world's only practicing wizard (note: practicing ), ...

A bunch of people stood around and just listened to him talk for two hours (at least, while I was there). He's a consummate acto...

Furry cons of late, as a rule, try to avoid media coverage the best they can, simply because we've gotten nothing but sensationalist garbage in the past couple of years (e.g., Vanity Fair, MTV, CSI, etc.) I'm not honestly sure what AC's policy on media is, but I know in some cons, they're outright b...
