I heard yesterday on my way home from Uni. I was so shocked when I got the message. Over here he wasn't hugely liked because of the image he gave Australia and all this silly stuff he did with his kid...
But that's totally NOT the point. The guy was 44, he did love animals, he was trying to conserve our environment, he made a few public errors so what. He's dead now, he has a family, and a lot of people loved him. He'll be sorely missed so I wish him well in his next life.
All I can say is at least he went doing what he loved; but he should have been really old when it happened. Like I'd like to die with my guitar or doing something I love...but not at 44, at like 80. Anyhow I hope his family are okay...well they won't be, of course, but I hope the media doesn't crawl over them like scavengers and vultures.
Also, this is a guy who could have been a David Attenborough...old and doing documentaries still. What a waste, and a pity. I also didn't expect him to die that way.
