Tragically, BSE is not terribly host-specific, as the prion can cause the human-version of the disease, known as "Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease."Lupin wrote:How species-specific is Bovine Spongeform Encephalopathy anyway?Apokryltaros wrote: Bovine Spongeform Encephalopathy kills its victim, in that the prions form this plaque that smothers the neurons, causing the characteristic brain damage and death.
Perhaps lycanthropy can stop it by having the immune system attack the plaque?
(Even if it could, I strongly doubt that it would be able to reverse the brain damage)
And BSE was originally from sheep, where the disease called "scrapies," where infected sheep would become listless and do nothing but scrape themselves against a post, as well as wither away and die.
It depends on what sort of brain disease we're talking about, really.wolf marine wrote:i don't think brain disease won't be a problem due the werewolf's regeneritve abilites
If it was something like hydadtic cysts of pork tapeworms, then I don't think one would worry too much.
If it was something like having a mining spike blasted through your nose, then I would think that you would have a lot to worry about, if you still had your cognitive thinking abilities, that is.
