Its not because they have the ability to see in the dark. Its because of the configuration of rods and cones in their eyes that allow them to see in the dark that causes the reflection. Actually the reflection has nothing to do with rods and cones, it's caused by a layer called the tapetum lucidum ...

..but because the human behind it has a good 'excuse' as it were to be as bloody and as carnal as they desire, without the fear of retribution.. or moral consequences. Hey, im an animal.. why not.. (kind of thing)... There is retribution and plenty of it. First, being a werewolf is not an excuse si...

Re: human eating?
i think we did this already, but do you think werewolves eat humans. i think normally no, but like in the dark ages or times of famine i think WW would go after the only food source available, humans. i think WW would go for people that already died like dig up graves or eat hikers that died of hea...

The only time anything like a bark would come across (and even then, it's a stretch) is if the werewolf is laughing in gesalt form. Like I said, it's a strech, but that's the closest I can think of. You say that like there are hard facts behind what you are saying. I haven't heard any audio of an a...

Wolves can bark, they just don't do it with the frequency or volume that dogs do. Wolves bark about as much as dogs do. It may sound differently, different breeds of dogs do sound different. Its just we normally don't see or picture wolves in a laid back social setting that much. If you ever watch ...

Re: the size of a werewolf
may be a silly question, but usually or lemme take that back..anytime some1 becomes a werewolf, they are a normal-sized person at 1st & then they turn into a werewolf . Well what if the person that turned in2 a werewolf were fat or lets say a really really big person. Would that change the size...

Re: Glowing Eyes
This is probably why we would have movies and stories in which werewolves have actual glowing eyes. The natural reflection is being mistaken for a glow. Similar to how children might assume that the moon produces its own light.Rhuen wrote: Reflective like a wolf's and this being mistaken for glowing.

Definetley. The tail helps balance the were', werewolves have a lot of bulk up top, i.e chest, head, muscle. The 'wolf should definetley have a tail. Also yes with the whole retracting tails and coccyx thing, it sort of, withers away... You could say that when transforming back into a human the bod...

Re: What I feel a REAL werewolf would be like
I agree, Kelley Armstrong's concept how a werewolf would look and life like is definitely my favourite one. She wrote some other novels but in which she focuses on other characters. Besides 'Bitten' & 'Stolen' the book 'Broken' is again mainly about werewolves - it contains the interesting cond...

Like the bacteria in the Komodo Dragon. the bacteria for some as yet unknown reason (physical reason unknown) does not kill the lizard. But the bacteria is carried in their saliva. It is slopped into wounds of prey, if the animal escapes the bacteria multiplies and kills the animal, the bacteria is...

Venom is a specialized toxic saliva. The bite that can shift a person (DNA altering properties) is also not present in either species. So if one type of werewolf can alter DNA its actaully less of a stretch to have one that can cause madness with its bite. Maybe not a venom, but rather altered bact...

The idea that werewolves could have venomous properties akin to a Komodo Dragon is going too far off the beaten trail. There would be no basis with which the venom would be produced, seeing that wolves don't possess said venom and humans do not either. Remember you can't make matter out of nothing. ...

Neither. The bipedal werewolf we see in modern culture is just that a modern notion. There are very view myths if any at all that say that a werewolf stands upright. A werewolf would only have a wolf form. Being a above average sized wolf and either have a tail or no tail. not completly. You do see...

Hey
Well, I just got off my butt and registered. An hour or so prior to this post. But what the hey. I heard about the movie and this place a long time ago. I'm not gonna delve to deeply into who I am. But rather focus on what this message board/forum is about. In terms of werewolves I am conservative. ...
